Rema Bakery

In the Rema Bakery project, we endeavored to embody the legacy of a family business that has been a part of Kannur's fabric since 1937, while infusing it with a contemporary ethos that speaks to the modern consumer. The design is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, creating an atmosphere that is both welcoming and refined.
Upon entering the 77 sqm retail space, one is immediately struck by the minimalist elegance that defines the bakery's new aesthetic. The design concept revolves around the interplay of light and materiality. Strategically placed lighting accentuates the textural quality of the wood-clad ceiling, contributing to the warm ambiance that invites customers to explore and linger.
In this project, our skills in space planning, visual merchandising, and facade architecture were leveraged to ensure that every square foot of the bakery serves both functional and aesthetic purposes, ultimately creating a space that resonates with the history of Rema Bakery and projects its vision for the future.
The layout is meticulously planned for optimal visual merchandising, allowing the bakery's artisanal products to take center stage. A central island, sleek in form and monochromatic in color, serves as the focal point, around which the narrative of daily offerings unfolds. The juxtaposition of the dark counters against the lighter wood tones creates a sophisticated palette that complements the vibrant colors of the bakery's offerings.
For the facade, we approached it as a canvas that reflects the bakery's redefined identity. The architecture speaks to the heritage of the location while presenting a face that is current and engaging, inviting both longtime patrons and new customers to discover the Rema Bakery anew.
